COLLECT DATA IN VIETNAMESE FOR THE 2016 EDITION OF UN E-GOVERNMENT SURVEY

TASK

One of the primary activities of the DPADM is the assessment of the use and potential of ICTs to transform the public sector in all Member States through its flagship publication entitled United Nations E-Government Survey.

Based on the questionnaire provided by DPADM, the volunteer is expected to participate in data research and assessment of Member States’ national portals and associated official website in order to collect data on the provision of e-services for the Survey 2016.

-Tasks: DPADM will assign between 8 to 12 countries for review to each volunteer
-Deadline: 1 April 2015- 30 April 2015 – training and pilot assessment (approx. up to 4 days)
1 May 2015 – 15 July 2015 – on-line data gathering and assessment (approx.. 8 to 12 days)
-UNDESA/DPADM/eGB Branch Support: Coordination, monitoring and task related advisory and administrative support
-We recognize the volunteers’ contribution in the publication’s acknowledgement

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Survey presents the ranking of e-government development across all 193 Member States, enabling decision makers to identify the areas of strengths and challenges and to define appropriate policies, strategies and solutions.

UNDESA was one of the ten winners of the “Online Volunteering Award 2013” announced by the UNV programme in November 2013, in recognition of the effort undertaken by the Data Team of the Survey 2014, led by the eGB.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this assignment is to contribute to data research for the 2016 United Nations E-Government Survey by conducting online assessment of national-level public sector portals and associated official websites in a specific number of United Nations Member States to be assigned by DPADM.
